IaRC Plans Virtual Meeting

Good day everyone.  Given the reality of the pandemic, the board of the Iowa Repeater Council has decided to host a virtual meeting for our members.  The meeting discuss two items.  First is a move to align the Wisconsin Band Plan with modest modifications for Iowa.  The second is discussion to reduce the time we move to de-coordinate frequencies that have failed to file their annual re-certifications from 4 years to 3 years.

This virtual meeting is expected to last 60 to 90 minutes.  The board will take no action on these items, we would like members input.

Here is a copy of Wisconsin’s Band Plan  WAR-Bandplan-Revised-2019

Details for the call follow.

Here is the meeting information for the IaRC online meeting to be held 8-11-2020 at 1900-2030.

Iowa Repeater Coordinator Notes

The Spring 2020 IARC repeater directory has been published.  A PDF copy of the directory is attached to this email, and is also available for download in the “Files” section of the IARC groups.io page.  It will also be posted to the IARC website shortly.  Please feel free to print and/or distribute copies of this directory among your local clubs and groups.

Note that per IARC guidelines, only those repeaters with current coordination are published in the directory.  I have processed all renewals I have received as of today.  If your repeater is not listed but you believe you submitted an annual coordination renewal to me by the April 1st deadline, please reach out off-list by sending an email to coordinator@iowarepeater.org so we can work to get your coordination updated.

Also attached to this email is a list of repeaters that do NOT have a current coordination with IARC.  Of particular concern are those highlighted in yellow.  Per current IARC guidelines, any repeater that has not had a coordination renewal >4 years is subject to de-coordination.  Those repeaters highlighted in yellow fit this category and will be de-coordinated if no update is received by 30 June 2020.

Thanks again to all of you who sent in your annual renewals in a timely manner… it makes the job a lot easier!

73,

Paul WØYR

“Help Desk” well Received at Southeast Iowa Hamfest

IaRC’s Help Desk is proving quite useful.  The recent Southeast Iowa Hamfest allowed the Iowa Repeater Council to help solve repeater owners coordination issues.  The “Desk” was staffed with the Repeater Coordinator and several of the IaRC board members.  Several repeater owners took advantage of the service and were able to update their information on the IaRC database.  Look for the Help Desk at the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids hamfests.
